Section 7: MESHOLIM Follow the recipe strictly, without adding, subtracting, or exchanging any ingredients...
Dan the Bus Driver
(This parable appears on p. 64 above.)
I have used this meshol on several occasions, explaining that success
in life is not necessarily measured by fashionable clothes, new furniture, carefully
nurtured (read: spoiled) children (not more than two), who have all the opportunities
to learn music, dancing, tennis, swimming etc. Success in life is also not measured
in terms of one's popularity with the neighbors, a large salary, a large and well-appointed
home. Absolutely not! The success of a Jew is fulfilling the will of G-d. Period.
